Why Brush Clearance is Important?

Fire Safety

Brush clearance is essential for reducing the risk of wildfires, particularly in fire-prone areas. Removing excess vegetation and maintaining a defensible space around your property can significantly reduce the chance of fire spreading to your home.

Legal Compliance

Many regions require property owners to maintain clearances around their structures to comply with fire safety regulations. Failing to do so can result in fines or legal consequences. Our team ensures your property meets all local requirements, helping you avoid any potential issues.

Understanding Brush Clearance Requirements

Defensive Space Requirements:
Los Angeles County mandates that property owners in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ) maintain a defensible space around their structures. This includes:
• Clearing vegetation within 100 feet of any structure and within 10 feet of roadways or combustible fences. In some high-risk areas, this requirement may be extended to 200 feet for additional safety.
• Grass and native brush must be cut to a height of no more than 3 inches.
• Shrubs should have their lower third clear of foliage, and all dead material must be removed from vegetation.
